Cincinnati police are searching for two children who are missing from the same Fay Apartment address in North Fairmount where a mother of four was shot to death Friday night.

As of Saturday night, police can’t say whether it’s a coincidence or if there is a direct connection between the shooting death of 25-year-old Jackie Denise Evans, and the two neighbor children who police reported critically missing Saturday — from the same apartment building.

What we do know is that Jackie Evans was found shot at her unit in the Fay Apartments just before 9 p.m. Friday night.

The mother of four was rushed to University Hospital, where she later died.

As police were investigating that homicide, they discovered two children living in the same vicinity were missing.

They’re identified as nine-year-old Damerco Jones and four-year-old Armisha Williams.

They are not related to Jackie Evans, according to police and to friends.

However, Cincinnati detectives do indicate they suspect that the missing youngsters have some connection to the homicide.

Police Detective Howard Grant tells 9News, “At this time, that is still under investigation. What we do know is that at 2535 Williamsburg Drive, a homicide occurred.”

“It’s a coincidence at 2535 Williamsburg, there are some children who live in the same townhouse, and they’re no longer anywhere to be found,” said Detective Grant. “Our understanding is that they were witnesses to the crime.”

A friend of Jackie Evans’, Pamela Williams, who went to college with her, says Evans has four children of her own who she says are now safe and staying with their father.

She confirms that the nine-year-old and four-year-old are not Evan’s children.

Williams tells 9News that Evans was anxious to move out of her Fay Apartment unit because of the treatment she was getting from neighbors.

Williams says, “She was really having a difficult time where she lived in the Fay Apartments.”

“She was being taunted by neighbors, who were calling her names,” said Williams. “She was being so taunted and harassed. She changed the schedule that she took her children to the park. She decided to make the park trips in the evening, when the playground was pretty empty.”

Williams says Evans had just gotten her Associates degree and was looking forward to improving life for herself and her children.

Cincinnati police say they’ve found it hard to find witnesses, neighbors or family to come forward to tell them more about who shot Jackie Evans — or tell them where to find the two children: Damerco Jones or Armisha Williams.

Detectives tell 9News they don’t even know where the youngsters parents might be, let alone, know whether the two youngsters are safe.

Police say they didn’t issue an “Amber Alert” for the youngsters since they have no information about whether a car was used to take the children away — and they don’t have any indication of whether the childrens’ lives are actually in danger.

If you know anything about the two missing children or the shooting death of Jackie Denise Evans at Fay Apartments Friday night, please call Crime Stoppers at (513) 352-3040 or text (513) 352-3050. You don’t have to give your name and you may be eligible for a reward if your tips lead to an arrest.
